About Us

Himali Vikash Sansthan (HVS), a non profitable, Non-Governmental and social Organization established in the year 1993 with conglomeration of like minded educated
youths of Bermiok, west Sikkim and registered under society registration Act 1960 under the land Revenue/Law department government of Sikkim. The Organization also registered under Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA) under the ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India New Delhi. Himali Vikash Sansthan mission is sustainable development of the rural poor community of hilly terrain of Sikkim by combating the major problem like Health, Poverty, and Agriculture and Environmental pollution. Being active at grass root level, the objectives of an organization is diversified,
which in long run help in detecting the major lacuna and also in selecting the thrust areas to accomplish the mission.

Our Ethos

Sustainability:
For any project to be successful, sustainability is a key component. It looks at both the increased economic benefits and the improved livelihood options without causing any negative social or environmental impacts.

Evaluation:
Evaluation of the project will be done on quarterly basis based on the project outcome and certifications to the trained candidates.

VISIONS & OBJECTIVES

  •  To empower the rural people socially, economically and culturally.
  •  To create better understanding among members from different communities residing in the area.
  • To create awareness about Health, Environment and Rural Technology among the rural people of Sikkim and to follow up the acceptable policy being implemented by different government and non-governmental organizations.
  • To act as a bridge between rural people (irrespective of cast, creed and religion) and government and non-Governmental organization.
  • To promote different types of income generating schemes so as to uplift the economy of the weaker section of the society.
  •  To preserve and promote art, culture and tradition of the ethnic groups of the society and conserve the concept of secularism.
  • To impart knowledge about latest scientific and technological advancement in rural areas through scientific agencies of the government and non- governmental organizations and to initiate field based research.
  •  To conserve endangered flora and fauna through awareness, public participation and intervention.
  • The organization shall always work towards empowerment of women and human rights.
  • The organization will not withdraw from the concepts of sustainable agriculture development and disaster mitigation.
  •  The organization will curb corruption and social injustice.
  • HVS is purely a non-profit and non-political organization.
